MIC*-KEY Low Profile Gastrostomy Feeding Tubes

  • The MIC*-KEY* Low-Profile Gastrostomy Feeding Tubes (Figure 3) are indicated for use in
  • patients who require long-term feeding, are unable to tolerate oral feeding, who are at low risk
  • for aspiration, require gastric decompression and/or medication delivery directly into the
  • stomach. They are sterile, single patient use device for use up to 90 days.
  • The MIC*-KEY* Low-Profile Gastrostomy Feeding Tube is unobtrusive and easy to conceal.
  • Minimal external surface area allows air circulation around the stoma. Ease of care encourages
  • patient involvement and self-sufficiency. Range of 62 sizes helps ensure a comfortable, proper fit
  • to minimize the chance of gastric leakage. Proximal anti-reflux valve. Tapered distal tip recessed
  • at 5ml. All sterilized with Ethylene Oxide.
  • The MIC*-KEY* low-profile gastrostomy feeding tube (MIC*-KEY* G-tube) is inserted into the
  • stomach through the abdominal wall. There is an inflatable balloon at one end and an external
  • base or external retention disc at the other. This tube allows for intake of food and water for
  • patients through continuous or bolus feeding in conjunction with a continuous or bolus feed
  • MIC*-KEY Extension Set.
  • The MIC*-KEY G-tube consists of key features including the external base, the feeding port and
  • the balloon valve. The external base consists of 3 parts: the feeding port, closure cap and the
  • balloon port. The external base or retention disc holds the tube in place yet allows air circulation
  • to the skin around and underneath it. The feeding port houses an anti-reflux valve. This helps
  • prevent stomach contents from leaking out of the tube once the closure cap is opened. Once the
  • patient end of the extension set is connected to the tube, the anti-reflux valve will open, allowing
  • the administration of tube feeds or medication or the aspiration of gastric contents. The
  • extension set can also be used for venting. This is also called decompression or burping.
  • Gastrostomy Tubes (G-tubes) are placed into a stoma and held in place by an internal retention
  • balloon. Water is injected into the balloon through the balloon inflation port to hold the tube in
  • place. The balloon is inflated and deflated by inserting a luer slip syringe into the balloon
  • insufflation port or balloon valve.
  • The MIC*-KEY* Low-Profile Gastrostomy Feeding Tube is intended to connect to the MIC*-KEY*
  • Extension Sets with ENFit® Connectors for feeding . The MIC*-KEY* Extension Sets with ENFit®
  • Connectors are intended to connect to Enteral Feeding Syringes with ENFit® Connectors and
  • Feed Administration Bags with ENFit® Connectors. Refer to DHFE-09537 Technical

  • The MIC*-KEY G-Tubes are available in kits (0120 series) or MIC*-KEY G-tube only (2120 series). It
  • is available in 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 and 24 French sizes and across a variety of stoma lengths. The
  • kits contain: MIC*-KEY Gastric feeding tube, continuous feed ENFit extension set, bolus feed
  • ENFit extension set, 6 mL luer slip, 35 mL ENFit syringe, and gauze pads. heter tip syringe, and  gauze pads.
